Action: Closes all recreational fishing.
Effective dates: Oct. 11 and 12, 2023.
Species affected: All species.
Location:
Skagit River from the Highway 9 Bridge in Sedro Woolley to the mouth of the Baker River:
- Oct. 11 and 12, 2023: All recreational fishing is closed.
Reason for action: This area of the Skagit River will close Oct. 11 and 12 to all recreational fishing to avoid gear conflicts during scheduled treaty fisheries.
Additional information: Anglers are asked to respect tribal fishers and reminded not to interfere with tribal fisheries. There may be future periodic closures to prevent conflicts during scheduled tribal fisheries. Conflicts that arise during ongoing fisheries could lead to additional time and area closures to reduce conflicts.
