Washington's ocean salmon fisheries are underway off La Push (Marine Area 3) and Neah Bay (Marine Area 4), where this Chinook was caught earlier this week. More summer fisheries open this Saturday, June 24, off Ilwaco (Marine Area 1) and Westport (Marine Area 2) under careful regulations and catch quotas to support the conservation of future salmon runs.
The current daily limit in these marine areas is 2 salmon including no more than 1 Chinook. Anglers are reminded to release wild coho salmon.
For detailed regulations on ocean salmon fishing please see the Fishing Rule Changes for these marine areas on our webpage: https://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/regulations/emergency-rules #FishWashington
