Marine Area 10 salmon fishing season opens June 1

Action: Open salmon fishing season.
Effective date: June 1 through July 12, 2023.
Species affected: Salmon.
Location: Marine Area 10, except waters of Elliot Bay and Shilshole Bay.
Rules: Daily limit 2. No minimum size. Release Chinook and chum salmon.
Reason for action: Salmon fishing in Marine Area 10 will begin June 1, 2023, as agreed upon with co-managers during the 2023 North of Falcon season setting process.
Additional information: Beginning July 1, 2023, this fishing season will be listed in the new 2023/2024 Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet.
Waters of Elliott Bay east of a line from West Point to Alki Point , and Shilshole Bay southeast of a line from Meadow Point to West Point, are closed to salmon fishing during this time.
Year-round fishing piers (Bremerton Boardwalk, Illahee State Park Pier, Seacrest Pier, and Waterman Pier) remain open under rules listed in the 2022/23 rules pamphlet.
